A text messaging mix-up resulted in a hilarious moment for a couple of new parents in Georgia.
Mark and Lindsey Lashley welcomed their first child, a son, on Saturday in Bainbridge, and during all the excitement at the hospital they realized their family had included a wrong number on a text message announcement about the birth.
"My mom sent a group message and she attached my cousin's cell phone number, but my cousin had changed her number, and that's how the wrong number deal happened," Mark Lashley told TODAY. "She was so excited about us having a baby, she thought she was talking to my cousin."
But the wrong number actually belonged to a young man named Dennis Williams, who decided against ignoring the mistake and instead made plans to visit the family.

"Well I don't know yall but me and the boys will be thru to take picture with the baby," Williams wrote, according to screen grabs of the text message conversation.
The family replied with "lol" and also the hospital room number. And sure enough, Williams and his brother showed up at the hospital bearing gifts.
"They said, we were the guys who got the wrong text and we just wanted to stop by and give a gift to the baby," Lashley said. "They brought diapers and bottles and a pacifier. It was very nice of them."
The Lashleys, who live in Cairo, Georgia, were both surprised and amused — one family member thanked the men for being so kind in a Facebook post. And a photo of the brothers posing with the couple and their son has gone viral.

Now, though, Lashley says he's just hoping for some peace and quiet with his new family.
"Our phones have been going berserk," he said. "I didn't realize how big it was until we got a message from someone in Africa telling us congratulations. We just want to stay at home and get our son nestled in."
